Statement of Purpose for Embedded Systems (Georgia Tech)

Statement of Purpose is a crucial document while planning to study abroad. It is a document that talks about your personal, academic, and professional interests. Here’s a sample of the SOP for Embedded Systems:
“If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?”
This renowned quote by Albert Einstein strongly resembles the rationale of the research. To unearth new technologies has always been my desire and it has motivated me to pursue a career in engineering. As I come across new innovations, my first predicament is to understand the technology behind them. For example, when I heard about the Automatic Energy Meter Reading System launched by Larsen and Toubro, I could not resist myself from learning the minutiae of this new product. After reading several research papers and perusing the internet, I realized that this technology was implemented using an intelligent microprocessor which forms the nucleus of embedded systems. Comprehending the theoretical concept, my anxiety lured me to put this innovation into practice and I ended up developing a ‘Wireless Electricity Meter’ as my final year diploma project.
