As an aspiring entrepreneur in this industry, I began my practical business experience through an internship at Manak Jewellers Pvt Ltd. This manufacturing company manufactures Cubic Zirconia (CZ) jewelry in India. Here, as an Assistant Manager, I oversaw improving the operational efficiency and productivity of the company while ensuring that the products were tracked as per delivery schedules. Also, I interacted with clients to understand their experience with the product, service, and design needs and preferences. This valuable experience has impelled me to further my formal erudition. My successful internship at Manak Jewellers helped me get employment at Raj Jewellers, a jewelry manufacturing company that designs, develops, and manufactures CZ jewelry in India. My responsibilities here centered on creating a different style of jewelry that no one in India had ever done in CZ jewelry before. Creation of designs, developing the CAD and CAM with the Master of It, working with an expert whether the designs selected are feasible or not. I led a team of 5 people for this whole project. Quality check of the product at every stage. I had to maintain an account of all the gold loss and issue receipts. After making a decent number of designs in every category, I focused on this product’s market. I also decided on the marketing strategies, price strategies, and promotion. I came up with an idea to give a certificate of authenticity with each product to make the brand known in the market. This all helped me market the product easily as I knew and was there at each process step. I got the best Employee award for three months. I’m keener than ever to pursue a master’s in _______________________________. After graduation, I wish to start my own Streetwear fashion brand. This not only includes clothing but jewelry also. I’ve always been fascinated by the designs of some of the biggest streetwear brands. The level of determination and hard work I put towards a set goal and the knowledge that I’ll be picking up from the course will help me a lot towards this vision. This can be an addition to the family business that I already have back home. During my undergrad education I explored topics like Marketing strategies and Management, Principal of management, Human Resource Management, Business Communications, and Business research methods gave me a deep insight into the models and strategies of Marketing. Due to my interest in management, I took up courses like Social Media Marketing by Ogilvy on 42courses and Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat marketing by Digital Marketing Institute on Coursera, these courses broadened my knowledge on key marketing concepts. I even took part in a marketing event called Synchrony in Singapore, where we had to present a start-up idea and describe how we would be marketing it. Additionally, I also attended a seminar by TiE Masterclass on digital marketing, which gave me insights on Consumer marketing & driving engagement, Personalized marketing, and creating memorable content. There was also a seminar on Marketing by Debbie Stanford, CEO of NOVO cinemas based in Dubai. My undergrad project was ‘Stranger sports’ that was the one in Singapore during my BBA. The objective of this project was to bring strangers out of their house who had to cancel their plans of playing because of not having enough players or a friend to play with. My key responsibilities were Marketing and Finance, like the total cost of the project, finding sponsors, using the money and giving weightage to the spending, how and where to market the app, and what’s the target audience. I didn’t know anything about making an app, so this was a very difficult process that we had to go through. We were way behind schedule; there was a lack of guidelines and accountability. We started working on the solutions to our problems by making weekly goals and making a clear path for the whole team. Updates were taken every day. All responsibilities and communications were made effective by discussing any problems or unclear objectives or goals. I worked on ‘Gender Diversity and its Impact on the Growth of Organizations’ that aimed to identify how gender diversity can improve organizational effectiveness. To recognize the aspects that hinder women’s advancement to top-level management. We used different data analysis methods for testing our research, out of which was Spearman Correlation. This analysis was difficult for us as it was our first time using it, and due to the content and data we had, it was difficult to get proper results from this method. Being in Dubai, it’s a very sensitive topic to talk about, so we could not get enough interviews of women who were willing to talk about it. Somehow, we managed to get an interview with the CEO of Novo Cinemas. We presented our project well in front of our professors; among our group, we had great communication skills; being the leader of this project, I was able to keep everything in order. I’ve represented my university in a couple of inter-university tournaments. I have organized many Intra college tournaments for various sports as the Sports Head and Football captain for the university SP Jain School of Global Management in 2019-2020 and 2020-2021. I was also a part of the organizing committee for the Techstars Start-up event in Dubai; my responsibilities were to find sponsors and participants. Participated in ‘Synchrony’ Singapore, a marketing event wherein I pitched a start-up idea and how to market it and was a member of the Model UN team in Singapore for 2018. Volunteered at Saraswati Laxmichandji Trust to construct a school building for underprivileged kids; my key responsibilities here were to be updated on the work being done and oversee the development and execution of project deliverables. Also, I proactively interacted with clients to get a first-hand understanding of their experience with the product, service, and design needs and preferences. The valuable exposure helped me in understanding product line and consumer behaviour and the associated managerial activities in running a business. In order to develop the managerial expertise and marketing acumen for the entrepreneurial journey that lies ahead, I seek to pursue MS in ___________________. My successful internship at Manak Jewellers helped me gain employment at Raj Jewellers, a jewellery manufacturing company that designs, develops, and manufactures CZ jewelery in India. My responsibilities here included working on bespoke jewellery design unique to the existing product line at CZ jewelry. Creating design using CAD and CAM, interacting with experts on design selection and feasibility and conducting quality checks are some of the crucial activities that I managed with suitable assistance from a five member team. Most importantly I learned about inventory reconciliation, product placement and pricing, marketing strategies and promotion. I also pioneered the concept of issuing a certificate of purity to customers highlighting product quality, which helped in building trust and goodwill among customers and enhanced brand awareness. My efforts in building consumer trust and propagating the product line earned me the Best Employee Award for three months. Buoyed by these enriching engagements I am inspired to pursue a master’s in _______________________________. After graduation, I wish to set up a Streetwear fashion brand, including clothing and jewellery. I have always been fascinated by the designs of some of the leading streetwear brands. I am hopeful that my determination and hard work coupled with the knowledge gained from the program will help me in fructifying my vision. I also wish to start a venture capital fund with like-minded individuals to facilitate the funding of promising start-ups in India, who have a vision to contribute towards the growth and progress of the society. My undergrad education strongly fuelled my career interest, as I developed deeper insights into management and marketing through topics like Marketing strategies and Management, Principal of management, Human Resource Management and Business Communications. To broaden my understanding of management, I signed up for courses like Social Media Marketing by Ogilvy on 42courses and Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat marketing by Digital Marketing Institute on Coursera. These courses helped me understand the nuances of traditional and digital marketing. I even participated in a marketing event called Synchrony in Singapore, where we had to present a start-up idea and describe our marketing pitch, strategies and approaches to________. Additionally, I also attended a seminar by TiE Masterclass on digital marketing, which gave me insights on Consumer marketing and driving engagement, Personalized marketing, and creating engaging content. I also attended a seminar on Marketing by Debbie Stanford, CEO of NOVO cinemas based in Dubai. Working on projects helped me gain a practical perspective of key marketing concepts. One of the team projects that I worked on involved developing an app : ‘Stranger sports.’ The objective here was to encourage people to play a sport of their choice in event of a lack of partners by helping them in finding suitable partners. As the concept was quite novel and my understanding of app development was limited, I leveraged my understanding of qualitative and quantitative marketing and conducted consumer research to promote the application. My efforts in brand promotion and positioning, and astute research skills helped in conveying the right message to the target audience. Given the lack of dedicated resources, I handled various aspects of brand promotion from budgeting the project cost, finding sponsors, planning expenses to conceptualizing and executing marketing strategies. As we were behind schedule in delivering the project, I conducted frequent brainstorming sessions and motivational talks that pepped up the team to work as a cohesive unit towards a common goal. Finally, through our concerted efforts and my innate ability to promote the concept in the most impactful way, we were able to execute a successful marketing campaign for this sports app. As a result our app received an overwhelming response in form of numerous enquiries from prospective customers thereby earning us the appreciation from the app company. Subsequently, I worked on a project on ‘Gender Diversity and its Impact on the Growth of Organizations’ with the objective is to identify how gender diversity can improve organizational effectiveness. The project was quite challenging considering the norms that had to be followed while interviewing a woman in the Gulf region. Finally, with my persuasive skills and ability to connect with people I managed to interview a cross section of well placed women to gain their perspective on gender parity. Working in a _________ member team, we used different data analysis methods to drive our research. Finally using Spearman Correlation we were able to highlight factors that hindered women taking on leadership and managerial roles . The project when presented to our seniors and professors was well acclaimed. Working on this project made me realize the importance of establishing people connect and effective communication while marketing. As a sports enthusiast, I believe that physical development is equally important in attaining intellectual growth and broader outlook towards life. As an astute team player I have represented my university in many Intra college tournaments for various sports as the Sports Head and Football captain for the university SP Jain School of Global Management in 2019-2020 and 2020-2021. I was also a part of the organizing committee for the Techstars Start-up event in Dubai, wherein I solicited sponsors and participants. I also participated in ‘Synchrony’ Singapore, a marketing event wherein I pitched a start-up idea. Apart from being a member of the Model UN team in Singapore for 2018, I have also volunteered for Saraswati Laxmichandji Trust. I assisted the administration in maintaining a log of the daily activities being carried out in constructing a school building for underprivileged kids. My key responsibilities involved reporting on the progress of work done, managing the project deliverables and maintaining the records of the overall construction activities. Given my affable nature, competitive spirit and friendly disposition, I am hopeful of making significant contributions during my time at the university. It was during pursuing my internship at Keystone, during my undergraduate bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, could I understand through first-hand experience that a key element in the successful and timely completion of any construction project is efficient management. My internship at Keystone 72 Khanpur,Sevasi,Vadodara, I got the opportunity to be part of the ongoing project, – a residential project which has 72 units spread evenly across 4 towers.I along with the junior engineer at the site had to supervise the construction of the basement and retaining wall. During the period of my internship, I got to interact with the senior engineers, workers, contractors and gained a lot of insight into the construction industry. I also got to read the steel drawings and floor plans. I gained exposure to the various challengesthat industry faces and learnt about the scheduling and estimating of materials. For instance, through my interactions with the contractors, I got to know the disputes which arose among the workers, the tight deadlines they have to work in and the various improvisations they have to do so that the work doesn’t come to a halt. Moreover, I observed the preparation of M20 nominal mix on site.Whenever higher strength of concrete is required,i.e M25 or M30 grade of concrete,Ready mix machine was used which has a capacity of 6m3.The contractors often faced an uphill task to use the whole quantity within a short period of time. This helped me understand that having technical skills is not enough, it needs to be complemented by management skills. These experiences have helped me identify that my career interest lies in the field of Construction Management. Keen to pursue a successful career in this field makes me realize the need to acquire advanced skills and knowledge of the advancements in the construction Industry such as 3D Modelling, green construction, optimum resource utilization, cost efficiency, efficient contracts management etc. This motivates me to equip myself with the aforementioned skills through a Master’s in Construction Management. After the successful completion of my masters, I would like to secure a job in one of the leading MNCs and apply the knowledge gained in developing _______. It is estimated that by 2030, the construction industry in India will become a 1 trillion dollar industry. I would like to gain valuable experience and would like to start my own construction company. I developed a keen interest in several subjects due to which I have opted to study Construction Management. In the 1st year of my undergraduate studies, I was introduced to Building Drawing in which I was taught to design the floor plans of residential apartments. While in the second year, I was introduced to Building, Planning and Design after completing which I was able to design floor plans of public buildings. Another subject which I was exposed to was Construction Technology 1 in which I was taught about the various characteristics of the buildings such as design of staircases, acoustics, ventilation and topics such as floors, floorings, and some methods such as scaffolding, shoring, underpinning etc. In the penultimate year of study, I deeply enjoyed studying Estimation, Valuation and Professional Practices in which I learnt to read the drawings and estimate the costs of various structures such as beams, slabs, canals, staircases. I even learnt about tenders, contracts and leases . While in construction technology 2 I learnt the various types of foundations, piles etc and also learnt about tunnel engineering, various types of concrete. In the final year of my studies, I will be learning about cement concrete technology, construction project management and prestressed concrete. After completion of these subjects, I will be well equipped to absorb the lessons taught in my graduate studies. Working on curricular projects helped me gain practical exposure. One such project was the Electronic Plastic Waste Concrete-The objective of this project was to decrease the dependence on sand as a fine aggregate. Due to the astronomical increase inthe electronic waste generated in the past few years,we realized thatthese things can partially replace the fine aggregate without much change in its strength. In this project, 15%.20% and 25% of the fine aggregate was replaced by electronic plastic waste. This waste was collected from scrap dealers and electronic shops. This was then ground to the required size. With the help of relevant IS codes and using mix design, the individual quantities of the materials required were ascertained.M20 strength concrete was prepared and poured into moulds of standard size and the cubes were subsequently tested with standard testing methods. These cubes on being hardened were immersed in water and the 7th and the 28th day strength was determined by testing them through the compressive testing machine. Another minor academic project was the Contour Survey project of Pavagadh hills which was undertaken to understand the profile of the terrain and helped me gain technical understanding of the methodology and techniques involved .5 stations were taken which have varying topography. The theodolites were set up at each station. The reduced level of the points surrounding the station were taken through the theodolite on the staff. This process was repeated for all the stations. On obtaining the data for all the stations, the points having the same reduced level were joined and the contour lines were drawn to understand the terrain. Apart from striving for academic excellence, I took active part in co-curricular and extracurricular activities. I am an avid football fan and player. I have been playing football since my 5th grade. I have represented my school and my district in several tournaments. I was the vice captain of my college football team in which we won the inter-faculty tournament. During my vacation to Dubai and Singapore a few years back, I could not take my eyes off imposing structures such as the Burj Khalifa, Changi Airport, and Marina Bay Sands. I had a memorable time appreciating and drawing inspiration from these visually mesmerizing landmarks, created through resourceful planning and ingenious management of human and material resources. Further during my internship at Keystone as part of my Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering where I had the first-hand experience of man and material management. My internship stint at Keystone, Vadodara, albeit short, served as a fertile learning ground. Deputed to oversee an ongoing residential project (with 72 units spread evenly across 4 towers), a junior site engineer and I supervised the construction of the basement and the retaining wall. The engagement proved beneficial from a technical and personal perspective, as I gained first-hand knowledge of the accountability, responsibility, and feedback evaluation that comes with working as a construction manager. A series of interactions with senior engineers, workers, and contractors honed my people-management skills as I could transform their ideas, opinions, and vision into tangible construction solutions. Apart from assessing steel drawings and floor plans, I also learned the importance of motivating and encouraging the labor force through diplomacy and people-handling skills to resolve labor unrest arising out of extended work hours and stricter deadlines. It not only galvanized the workers and resulted in higher productivity, but also inspired them to continuously innovate. Moreover, I learned the art of concrete mixing by carefully balancing concrete strength with its transient shelf life to avoid waste through optimal usage. In essence, the overall experience equipped me with the skills, wisdom, and foresight to align manpower with the organization’s goals and customers’ demands. With a real-world taste of design and construction, I am now keen to gain a seminal understanding of how effective and innovative construction management techniques can enrich the quality of life for all the stakeholders concerned: management, labor, and citizens in need of sustainable and cost-effective habitation. Following graduate studies, my vision is to be a part of MNCs such as Larsen and Toubro, Arup, and Aecon to plan, oversee, and execute construction projects that can improve human habitation without perturbing the environment. I am particularly keen on exploring new management technologies such as 3D printing that can speed up execution time. My long-term goal is to establish a consultancy firm and cater to clients in need of innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective construction solutions. My rigorous undergraduate curriculum comprising courses such as Construction Technology, Building Planning, and Design provided me with a blend of theoretical and practical insights into various aspects of construction management, including design, material selection, and management. These skills have subsequently enabled me to design floor plans for residential and public buildings. I equally enjoyed studying the commercial aspects of construction management such as tendering, contracts, and leases through subjects such as Estimation, Valuation, and Professional Practices. I now look forward to studying core concepts such as cement concrete technology, construction project management, and prestressed concrete as part of my final year studies. In the penultimate year of my undergraduate studies, I completed a fascinating course, “Introduction to Geographic Information Systems”, and I wish to delve deeper into this topic as it would provide me assorted career benefits, such as monitoring a Project’s status, scheduling, and optimum resource utilization. In addition to classroom learning, I have been actively engaged in curricular projects to test and validate how concepts transform into project delivery at scale. One such project was the Electronic Plastic Waste Concrete. The objective was to reduce the dependency on the sand as a fine aggregate and assuage the impact of environmental degradation. We achieved it by collating electronic waste and partially replacing the fine aggregate without much change in its strength. Thus, we replaced 15%, 20%, and 25% of the fine aggregate with electronic plastic waste. The waste was collected from scrap dealers and electronic shops and was subsequently pulverized to the required size. The use of relevant IS codes enabled us to ascertain individual quantities of the materials.M20 strength concrete was prepared and poured into moulds of standard. These cubes were then cured in water, and the 7th and the 28th-day strength was determined with the help of standard testing methods. Another project that enhanced my surveying skills was the Contour Survey project of Pavagadh hills. I profiled the entire terrain and learned about the methodology and techniques involved in contour mapping. As a fitness and sports enthusiast, I have never missed an opportunity to enhance my competitive outlook and team spirit by participating in extracurricular activities. My football skill and the ability to motivate team members have enabled me to victoriously represent my school in district-level championship tournaments, where, as my college team’s vice-captain, I played a leading role in winning the prestigious inter-faculty tournament. When I look at the modern-day construction marvels, I realize that it is astute and sharp project management skills that integrate the ingenuity, innovativeness, and imagination of the builders to build habitable constructions with a lasting value. Therefore, I believe that pursuing an MS in ______ from ___ University shall empower me with the management skills and insights to establish the right synergy between moving parts and people, which is crucial for the construction of new habitations and infrastructure, that accomplish the needs and sensibilities of individuals and communities across the globe. I am eager to study courses such as Construction finance, Building Information Modelling (BIM), and Construction scheduling and estimating to diversify and expand my knowledge, and subsequently, make significant contributions in my chosen field. I am highly inspired by the work of Professor ______, whose research in _____ provides a unique perspective in modern-day construction management, and am excited to work under ____ I am cognizant of the university’s high standards of excellence, and with my hard work and dedication, I believe, I will be able to live up to these expectations. I am particularly keen on connecting with like-minded individuals and propagating the importance of sustainability in modern-day construction endeavors to mitigate the impact on the environment and ecology. If allowed to pursue graduate studies, I hope to promote the discipline of construction management among students and peers, and also share my passion for sports and mentoring by participating in various campus involvements at the university. I am hopeful that the admissions committee shall accord a favorable response to my application and grant me the opportunity to be a part of _____.First Draft

It was truly a moment of great glory for our team, when we presented our ambitious project, NIVARAN (Non-Invasive VitAl sign Respiratory ANalyzer), on the Sandesh news channel. We not only earned our college’s appreciation award for remarkable work during the lockdown and got selected in the top 30 teams for the “SAMADHAN India” Hackathon, organized by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, but also gained immense satisfaction in contributing to a noble cause. Moreover, we presented this device in the prestigious international hackathon, “Hack the crisis India”, achieving the sixth rank amongst 3000 applications and 15000+ students. Our system aimed to diagnose COVID-19 in a fast and cost-effective manner. It would assess vital body signs such as Lung pressure, breathing rate, Oxygen saturation, Body temperature, and then suggest the COVID-19 stage, based upon graphs and the measured data. Additionally, it detected COVID-19 patients by measuring and displaying the lung pressure’s real-time graph. Our primary goal was to achieve higher accuracy and a quicker method to classify primary symptomatic COVID-19 patients. The device we created took less than five minutes to classify a person’s symptoms. We used a machine-learning algorithm to classify the symptoms and K-means clustering for accurate results. Our system is coded in python and we used Scikit-learn, Keras, and PyTorch. This project is now patented (Patent ID IN202021017788, published on June 6th, 2021) in the Indian Patent Office. Concurrently along with NIVARAN, I also worked on another purposive project, titled PRAN (Protective Respiratory Auxiliary Node), which was a device to provide oxygen therapy to COVID-19 patients to restore their breathing cycle. The appliance measures the breathing rate and regulates the pressure. Moreover, it also measures the SpO2, breathing, lung pressure, and exaltation of CO2. Developed with combined efforts of our college’s biomedical department and Keepsake engineering Pvt. Ltd., this system was built using a Processor, Air compressor, and Solenoid valves. It was an extraordinary industry exposure for me, and it also bestowed an industry-provided workspace with the financial support of $1830 to the college’s “SSIP incubation centre” for the development of a prototype. We also had this project patented (Patent ID IN202021019725, published on May 21st, 2021). Although the two projects mentioned above form the highlight of my work in the biomedical engineering realm so far, I have also worked on other remarkable projects previously. One was developing an algorithm to Enhancing Radiographic Dental Image Visualisation with Colourisation and Graphical User Interface. The algorithm was built using MATLAB, morphological operation, and Pseudo colouring. This project was a valuable learning experience, where I grasped nuances of medical processing, grayscale images, MATLAB, and worked with standardized datasets. These algorithms make the complex grayscale image’s comprehension much easier and provide the physician with a smooth user interface. We presented this venture at Gujarat Industrial Hackathon and published it as a research paper in the “Journal of Image Processing & Pattern Recognition Progress Journal.” Additionally, I also wrote a review paper under a professor’s guidance, Published in Taylor and Francis publication, where we reviewed the latest assistive devices for the blind, based upon machine learning and A.I. My final year project titled eDRA (early Diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis), was yet another learning experience. I lead a two-member group under Assistant professor Bhavesh H Parmar’s guidance, to explore improvisations on existing painful, time-consuming, and costly arthritis diagnosing methods. I familiarized myself working with concepts and software like thermal signal processing, Biomechanics, Human anatomy, and Python, and used them to create a device. We analyzed sensor captured thermal data from the joints and fed that data into the algorithm for classification. Based on this analysis, the device successfully predicted Arthritis’ current stage. We further developed the device mechanism, making it compatible with all joints in the human body. My key takeaways from this project were that I improved my skills in biomechanics and signal processing. We also patented this venture, with Patent ID IN 202021021772, published on August 13th, 2021. I am currently working as Research Advisor at Brainiac Healthcare Pvt Ltd., a start-up providing healthcare solutions, and helping companies to research medical devices. I along with my team am currently developing a NIVARAN (Non Invasive VitAl sign Respiratory ANalyzer) that works on the principle of biomechanics, signal processing. The aim of this system is to diagnosis the COVID19, provide fast, cost effective diagnosis and noninvasively. For example, the system would measure vital signs of body such as Lung pressure, breathing rate, Oxygen saturation, Temperature and suggest stage of COVID19 depending on the graphs and measure data. This system could also diagnosis COPD patient by measuring and displaying the real time graph of lung pressure. The biggest challenge we faced during the implementation of this project was to accurately detect COVID19 as its symptoms are not that much known that time. Apart from that design device such that test will become cost effective and no chance of contamination for other patient. Which sometimes led to ambiguity. Our aim is to have higher accuracy and less time consuming method to classify primary symptomatic patient for COVID19. Another aim is to provide rapid diagnosis. Device take hardly 4 to 5 minutes to classify person’s symptoms. We are using a machine learning algorithm to classify the symptoms. We use K means clustering for each symptoms to classify more accurately. Our system is being coded in python and we use Scikit-learn, keras, PyTorch, PyQT. This project has also been patented in an Indian Patent Office. Patent was publish on June 6th 2021, patent ID IN202021017788. We presented this device in international hackathon “Hack the crisis India”, Team got “6th rank” among 3000 team application and 15000+ students. Idea funded by the Student Startup Innovation Policy (SSIP), grant of $2100. Team got appreciation award from Alma mater for remarkable work in Lockdown. Nivaran Team also selected in TOP 30 teams in the “SAMADHAN India” Hackathon organise by the Ministry of Human Resources development. As team leader I was fortunate to present my team in all competition.

Device measure the breathing and regulate the pressure from system. The system was built using Processor, Air compressor, Solenoid valve. Moreover, System also measures the SpO2, Breathing, lung pressure and exaltation of CO2. PRAN project was developed by the combine efforts of Industry and Biomedical department of L.D college of engineering. It provides me grate exposure to work in industry. Moreover, Industry provided work space and financial support of $1830 provided by college’s “Atal incubation centre” for prototype development. Patent published by Indian patent office
Apart from Project, I also develop algorithm to Enhancing Radiographic Dental Image Visualisation with Colourisation and Graphical User Interface. Algorithm was built using MATLAB, morphological operation and Pseudo colouring. Under the supervision of professor I develop an algorithm. By working on this project I learn medical processing, gray scale images, MATLAB and work with standardise datasets. These algorithm not only provide easiness to understand the complex gray scale image but these also provide smooth user interface for physician. These project is presented in Gujarat Industrial Hackathon. We publish This project as a research paper in “Journal of Image Processing & Pattern Recognition Progress Journal”
For my final year project titled eDRA (early Diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis), I headed a group of two members and worked under Assistant professor Bhavesh H Parmar. The project aimed to find ways of improvising on existing painful, time consuming and costly diagnosis method. For this, I got accustomed to working on concept and software like thermal signal processing, Biomechanics, Human anatomy and Python and used them to create a device. We analysis thermal data capture from the joint and feed them in algorithm for classification. On the basis of this analysis, device predicts stage of Arthritis. Further, we develop device mechanism in manner that it can compatible for all kind of joint. This project helped me improve my skill in biomechanics, signal processing and to achieve project grant of $700 for device development from Student Start up Innovation (SSIP) and manage to file and publish the patent.
Company develop the patient CO2 monitor machine, device is little futuristic because it not only the detect the current status of exhalation of CO2 but also predict for the future reading using the “Temporal Deep Learning” algorithm. If any prediction will below or high from threshold reading, device perform alarm. As my experience of Artificial Intelligence in medicine devices am leading the team.Final Draft
To explore the role of AI in recognizing human emotions, apart from its cognitive understanding ability, in order to analyze human sentiments better, I worked on a project called AI Therapist. This project was aimed at developing a system that can recommend therapy based on the user’s emotions/mood, which the system would detect using either video/image, audio or text. For emotion recognition using image or video, I used Computer Vision, Face Detection and trained a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) for emotion recognition using video frames. For emotion recognition using audio our first approach was using speech to text and a BERT model, but the model couldn’t understand the intonation of the speech, which meant that speech to text would not work in all circumstances. After some research, I came across Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCCs) which is very close to how the human auditory system senses audio and trained a CNN using the same. Additionally, I also provided a chatbot feature for the user to talk to where I used a neural network for chatbot and BERT model for emotion recognition using text. The above project sparked my interest in NLP, and led me to work on Exam Preparation Kit Using Natural Language Processing where the objective was to help the students with their preparation for the exam by allowing them to say their answers into the system which would then be evaluated. The system asks questions based on the previous performance of the students i.e. asks from their weak topics. After answering a question, a score along with a reasoning breakdown of the score and explanation is displayed. The main challenge was evaluating the student’s answer using the right answer given by the professor for which I used a Siamese BERT model that perfectly fit our use case and gave us better results. Through this project I learned some important concepts of NLP such as tokenization, vectorization, summarization etc. I authored a paper on the implementation of the project which is awaiting publication in IEEE and presented at the 12th ICCCNT held by IIT Kharagpur. My research inclinations made me work on additional research papers. The paper titled “Airplane Crash Severity Prediction using Machine Learning” (awaiting publication in IEEE and presented at the 12th ICCCNT held by IIT Kharagpur.), used several machine learning algorithms, a neural network and stacking ensemble technique to predict severity of airplane crash based on factors like weather, engine type of aircraft, phase of flight, purpose of the flight, etc. In this paper, I also compared the algorithms used and justified the performances. Max accuracy achieved was 91.66% by the stacked model. I also worked on another research based project where I devised a proctoring system to detect malpractices during distant examination using computer vision, titled “Guided Vision Controlled Proctoring System for Distant Examination”. For this novel technique, which uses Body Tracking, Gaze Estimation, Emotion Recognition and Prohibited Object Detection, I have filed and published a patent in The Patent Office. These experiences have served as a great learning opportunity and reinforced my desire to further my knowledge acquisition through the Master’s program. My undergrad me to implement the above-mentioned projects successfully. Subjects such as Machine Learning, Data Warehouse and Mining, Artificial Intelligence and Soft Computing: Introduced me to various concepts of artificial intelligence and machine learning such as various Supervised and Unsupervised Machine Learning algorithms, Neural Networks, Fuzzy set theory and data management and processing. Robotic Vision: Introduced me to Computer vision and helped me develop various projects using Computer Vision. Applied Mathematics, Discrete Structures and Graph Theory, Digital Signal Processing: Gave me the mathematical, statistical and analytical knowledge for understanding different machine learning algorithms, data processing techniques and optimization techniques. Advanced Data Structures, Design and Analysis of Algorithms: Gave me a complete understanding of various data structures and their uses, different algorithms like path finding, sorting etc. and space and time complexity. Software Engineering, Object Oriented Programming: Understood good practices of the software engineering process and understood the importance and 4 pillars of object oriented programming. Web Technology Lab, Enterprise Technology Lab, Minor Project Lab: Understood web and application development along with using databases , servers and GPUs. To gain understanding of blockchain technologies, I worked on a research paper ‘Asset Tracking System using Blockchain’ which is awaiting publication in IEEE and presented at ASIANCON Conference. This paper presents a decentralized system to track status of an asset throughout the supply chain, making sure that the asset reaches the market tamper-proof and authentic. For this I used Solidity Smart Contracts, Ethereum Blockchain, Truffle Framework and Node.js. Additionally, I also worked on a decentralized Medical Record Dapp, to provide a safe and secure way of holding medical records of the users and share peer to peer with the concerned other users. The most important challenge was storing documents in a secure way but not in the blockchain as it would limit the size of the documents. Hence, we made use of IPFS (InterPlanetary File System) to store documents and make sharing possible in a secure way. These projects made me keen to gain a deeper understanding of the distributed systems through the graduate program. To gain industry exposure, during my undergrad I took up an internship at J. P. Morgan Chase & Co. as a Software Developer Intern. Here I developed and deployed a Service Virtualization System for an ongoing project that simulates external services required for the development process. This was achieved by setting up mock APIs to eliminate the cost associated with usage of external APIs, using Wiremock with Moneta Boot and Oracle Database. Working here, I learned various efficient and cost-optimized methods of software development. Additionally, due to my experience of ML and blockchain, I also gave presentations to my team on ‘Getting started with Blockchain’, ‘Developing Machine Learning Projects’ and several others. My professional experience also includes working at Modern Monk Pvt. Ltd. as a Flutter and Node.js Developer. Here, I Devised and deployed an application ‘Modern Monk’, a health management service consisting of dietician consultation, diet plans based on user requirements and training sessions using Flutter and Firebase. I also developed a backend API for dieticians to manage customer data and allocate diet plans using Node. Understanding the application requirements and developing the best suitable application. Learned how to structure unstructured data and serve it via a backend to the application. Understood the needs of the medical industry and practical applications of technology. To contribute to the society using our Computer Science skills, I worked on a college funded project partnered with an NGO to make a mobile application, VRecycle which is currently live on Play Store. Using this app, the user could request solid waste pickup by specifying content of the waste, a picture and a suitable time slot, the collector could accept a pickup request and go pick up the waste at the specified time. Here we developed our own algorithm that chooses which collector to send the request to based on the location of the user, schedule of the user, the number of pending requests of the collector, user and collector’s distance etc. Extracurricular activities: Having worked on different areas of AI such as CV (video), audio analysis, and NLP, I realize that CV and NLP is the cornerstone of the AI industry transformation. Going forward, I would like to be part of the Artificial Intelligence research team of a tech giant company like Google, Amazon or Apple and utilize my knowledge gained from masters program to contribute to the ongoing pioneering discoveries in the field of Deep Learning and Reinforcement Learning while equipping myself with each and every bit of knowledge about the subject. In the long term, I aspire to establish a company that solves various social and corporate problems using Artificial Intelligence alongside researching to make pioneering discoveries in the field advancing it further. I vividly remember how was I was completely awe-struck when Sunder Pichai introduced the AI abilities of Google Duplex in 2018, wherein the AI assistant handled a telephonic conversation to book a salon appointment independently. It demonstrated a “natural” flair in handling conversations with pauses and fillers such as hmm and huh. Who would have imagined that a few algorithms and commands could outpace human ingenuity and versatility one day – by making machines think, act, and speak like humans. The recent release of Google’s LaMDA, which can converse on almost everything, is a big step toward more human-like conversations. Impressed and intrigued by the vast potential of AI, I decided to embark on a journey to sharpen my skills and gain experience in such technologies by opting for an MS in computer science. I gained a good insight into AI’s sentient capabilities in decoding human emotions while working on my 5th-semester project, “AI Therapist.” The goal was to recognize and analyze human emotions and, accordingly, recommend a suitable therapy to overcome the negative emotions of subjects. I trained CNN and BERT models for emotion recognition using image/video and text, respectively. Instead of converting the audio input to text and using the same BERT model, I converted audio signals into MFCCs, which became another CNN input. This project also featured a chatbot. After training the models, the designed prototype gave an accuracy of 89.92%. The project’s outcome motivated me to understand NLP deeper through a self-initiated project: Exam Preparation Kit Using Natural Language Processing. The system allows students to speak out their answers, converts them into text, and punctuates and evaluates it to generate scores with detailed explanations. Based on the subject data, the system compiles questionnaires by factoring in students’ weak topics. The main challenge was evaluating students’ answers using sample answers. For this, I explored NLP concepts such as similarity measures and keyword extraction algorithms, to analyze and process the text better. I finally came across a sentence-BERT model that uses Siamese and triplet networks that fit our use-case perfectly and gave satisfactory results. The findings were documented in a research paper presented at the 12th ICCCNT 2021, which awaits publication in IEEE. Alarmed by the rise in airplane crashes, I authored a paper titled “Airplane Crash Severity Prediction Using Machine Learning,” which was also presented at the 12th ICCCNT(full form)2021 and is awaiting publication in IEEE. For this, I developed several machine learning models, including a neural network and a stacked model using the stacking ensemble technique. These models could predict the severity of an airplane crash based on factors like location, weather, engine type, and flight purpose. Seeking to expand my research experience, I devised a proctoring system titled “Guided Vision Controlled Proctoring System for Distant Examination.” The objective was to detect malpractices during online exams employing novel techniques such as body tracking, gaze estimation, emotion recognition, and prohibited object detection. These invaluable experiences strengthened my desire to deepen my understanding of AI. My undergraduate curriculum has laid a strong foundation to pursue a master’s program. I acquired an active comprehension of machine learning algorithms, neural networks, fuzzy set theory, and computer vision through the Machine Learning Lab, AI and Soft Computing, and Robotic Vision courses. Applied Mathematics, Discrete Structures and Graph Theory, and Digital Signal Processing introduced me to different machine learning algorithms and data processing techniques. I developed a deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, their uses and complexities, and code optimization through Advanced Data Structures, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, and Object-Oriented Programming. Database Management Systems, Web and Enterprise Technology Lab, and Software Engineering taught me how databases, frameworks, APIs, and libraries are integrated during full-stack development. Keen on researching new technologies, I authored the research paper, “Asset Tracking System Using Blockchain,” published in IEEE Xplore. It highlights how a decentralized system could be devised and used to track product status through a given supply chain framework to ensure that products reach consumers without any tampering. I further supported my learning by developing Medical Record DApp, a safe and secure way of storing medical records. Since storing large documents on the blockchain is expensive and unfeasible, I integrated IPFS with the system to store and share documents securely. The project gave me hands-on exposure to Solidity smart contracts, Ethereum blockchain, Truffle, and Node.js in an industrial setting. My transition into the professional environment was a valuable learning curve. The internship with JPMorgan Chase & Co. saw me working as part of its Asset and Wealth Management Department. Here, I witnessed how mission-critical applications relied on multiple services for their optimized development. It signaled an opportunity to develop and deploy a service virtualization system to simulate the external services required for the development process. I incorporated dynamic simulations through WireMock with Moneta Boot and Oracle database. This assignment improved my awareness of optimizing software development processes. I also delivered team presentations on topics such as “Getting Started with Blockchain” and “Developing Machine Learning Projects.” Subsequently, working at Modern Monk Pvt. Ltd. as a Flutter and Node.js Developer, aligned with my fascination for deriving value from unstructured data. Here, I devised and deployed Modern Monk, a health management mobile application that could provide users with dietician consultations, diet plans, and exercise plans based on their needs, health, and wellbeing. Since operations were carried offline before the application was launched, user data was unstructured and incomplete. I processed and structured the data by running Python scripts and exported it to Cloud Firestore. I also developed an API for dieticians and trainers to connect with users. Participating in extracurricular engagements helped me develop a better perspective toward life. I created a mobile application VRecycle, for my college solid waste management initiative. Using Flutter and Firebase, I created an interface that connected users and waste collectors. The application allowed users to book a waste pickup appointment at their desired location and time slot, which was then allocated to a suitable waste collector using a custom algorithm. I also organized various training sessions and placement drives as a Training and Placement Coordinator and conceived several technical and cultural events as the PR Head of the Computer Society of India. I regularly participated in beach clean-up drives held by the Afroz Shah Foundation and mentored freshman students under the Vishwas initiative. The enriching exposure to AI constituents such as CV and NLP, inspired me to build a firm foundation in this domain. I believe a master’s program will enhance my ability to deliver more concrete and tangible solutions for addressing pressing real-world problems related to healthcare, education, etc. I envision serving pioneering technology organizations such as Google, Amazon, or Apple and contributing to their research in deep learning and reinforcement learning. In the long term, I aspire to establish a company that solves various social and corporate problems using AI alongside research to make pioneering discoveries in the field. Whether it is decoding genetic markers or human communication, the application of disruptive technologies such as NLP and CV fascinate me. This fascination motivates me to pursue an MS in computer science with a specialization in AI from ____ University. I am specifically looking forward to courses on ___,___, and ___, to build upon my existing knowledge to redefine computational costs and processing time for complex operations such as processing unstructured data and comprehending languages. Prof. ____’s research on ____ appeals to me for its emphasis on ____. I am hopeful that the learning, research opportunities, and mentoring at ____ will enable me to design, build, and deliver predictive, intelligent, and sentient applications that can transform businesses and foster. My intellectual abilities, problem-solving skills, and extracurricular contributions convince me of having the credentials and commitment to excel in the program.
